Battle Creek Paintball Safety Rules
Markers must have barrel sleeves on at all times except while on the field or in designated areas. Absolutely no working on guns with air on or shooting in the safe areas. Markers may be fired in designated areas only. Anyone caught firing within the campground will be expelled immediately from the property.
Goggles on at all times while on the playing field, chrono area or target range. 1st Offense – set out a game. 2nd Offense – expelled for the day.
As with all guns, your finger should never touch the trigger unless you plan on shooting. Please use the safety on your markers as well.
You can use our field paint only. That means you can not bring your own paint and use it on our fields. You must buy your paint here because someone may bring old or altered paintballs that may hurt someone. 1st Offense – expelled for the day. 2nd Offense – expelled permanently from field.
No climbing on trees, bunkers, trailers ect. Keep both feet on the ground. (In The Compound, use the doors only to enter and exit. Do not climb in and out of windows or on top of the trailers.)
No blind shooting. You can not just stick your gun around a tree or bunker and shoot without looking at what you are shooting at. You will be called out by a ref if you do. You must be able to look at what you are shooting at because someone may raise their goggles during a game and we hope that you won't shoot at someone with their goggles up.
In an attempt to minimize the close quarter shooting, all players must offer a surrender call if you are under 20 feet in distance and you have out-maneuvered or flanked the other player. (there is no such thing as a face to face surrender. You must be in a position that no matter what, they’re going to take the hit.) The receiving player must surrender. They can not turn and attempt to shoot. In my opinion, if you are offered a “Surrender” by a player who has out-maneuvered you, turning and firing only demonstrates that you are a less-than-honorable player. They have done the sportsmanlike thing and offered you the option. You should be equally sportsmanlike and accept.
All players have the responsibility to help us enforce the three primary safety rules: (1. No Shooting except in the designated areas. 2. Goggles on at all times while in the designated shooting areas. 3. Barrel Sleeves on at all times outside the shooting areas.) The referees can’t be everywhere so it is up to you to help us. If you see someone raise their mask or enter the safe area without a barrel sleeve, remind them of the safety rules.
Battle Creek Open Play Rules
All markers must be set on semi auto only during open play.
Unless informed otherwise, all players start the game within 10 ft. of their flag station.
Once the game starts, players may go anywhere within the field boundaries. Anyone going out of bounds during a game will be considered eliminated for that game.
No shooting out of bounds. Any player caught intentionally shooting out of bounds will be asked to leave for the day.
No player may enter the field once a game starts unless instructed to do so by a Referee.
No player may leave a game and re-enter unless instructed to do so by a Referee.
During flag games, the flag bearer may not hide the flag. If hit, the flag must be hung in the nearest tree or on your bunker.
Paintballs must break to be considered a hit. However, if player calls out, “Hit” the player is still out even if it did not break. Players are considered eliminated only if they receive a quarter size splat on them or their gear. Gun hits do count. If you are not sure if it broke, ask your buddy with you or call “Paint Check”. A referee will come and check you. You must stop shooting until you are checked. In other words, stay in your bunker until a ref gets there. Other players may continue to shoot at player but may not advance on a player who has called for a paint check.
Please don’t argue with a referee call. They are only human and can make mistakes but they really do their best. Remember, attitudes will not be tolerated. It’s only a game folks. Players may not argue with Referees or other players. First Offense: give warning Second Offense: sent home for the day - Players that persist on causing problems will be expelled permanently from our fields.
Players caught wiping paint off during a game by the reffing staff will be immediately kicked off the field permanently.
Players breaking more than three balls consecutively on another player will be considered eliminated as well. Players who continuously overshoot players will be asked to leave and not return to our fields.
It is considered cheating to give your teammates info after being eliminated. Players may not pass paint or gear to players after being eliminated either.
The games are normally 15 minutes long with a maximum of 10 minutes between games. Players are responsible for getting ready for the next game. Players not ready must wait until the next game. We can't make everyone wait for you.
